Brady joined the Castleton (Vermont State University) Student Nurses Association for an event to talk about his journey publishing Smiley's Smile and personal experience with nurses in his medical journey. Brady highlighted the overwhelming importance of nurses and thanked the student nurses. The nurses asked questions about nursing from the patient point of view and how to provide the best nursing care possible. Castleton also purchased 50 copies of Smiley's Smile to donate to University of Vermont Children's Hospital. Thank you Castleton for the amazing work you are doing to train the next-generation of nursing leaders.

"Brady Lucas is an incredibly inspiring individual, and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have had the opportunity to amplify his message of empowering children to engage in their healthcare journey. Brady’s insightful stories shed light on the profound impact pediatric nurses have had on his care as a patient. His words left us feeling motivated in our commitment to going the extra mile for our patients. We are thrilled to introduce “Smiley’s Smile” to the University of Vermont’s Children’s Hospital, aiming to empower families through Brady’s story." -Emily Buchtman, 2024 Castleton Student Nurses Association Board Member and graduate.
